Background
The two “West Sixth” residential towers serving the Tempe campus of Arizona State University were experiencing problems with limescale accumulating in their domestic water boilers, plumbing lines and fixtures throughout the facilities. Water softeners were considered but were deemed unpractical due to space constraints. The units were installed on November 2014.
Results
In March of 2016 (16 months after the HydroFLOW units were installed), the domestic water boilers were inspected:
- The boiler tubes were found to be absolutely scale-free.
- HydroFLOW units reversed the scale that had built up before their installation.
